Get to know me, Katie B!

Hi! Thanks for your interest in getting to know me a little better!

I am a wife and mama to two beautiful little girls and two rescue pups! My husband is a Fire Fighter and I am a Registered Nurse. As you can imagine, our jobs involve very odd schedules to work around. I have been a nurse for almost 10 years, my main background being in pediatric nursing and a small part in cancer research. I absolutely LOVE taking care of people, especially children and families. The connections and bonds you make as a nurse are a very unique experiences that last you a lifetime. So why give up a career that once brought me so much joy you may ask? Allow me to explain!

It's pretty simple, I became a mom!

My whole world and outlook on life was completely shifted in ways I did not know possible. I tried to ignore my feelings for a long time by forcing myself to make a career fit into this new world of mine, instead of finding something that fit into our world. My joy and passion of taking care of people just simply transitioned into my new role as a mother and wife. I wanted to be the one at home with my baby girls and be actively present in their every day life. I knew that there had to be a better way to make this work and was determined to do just that! I shifted my energy and mindset into finding joy again and I haven't looked back.

I am finally able to pour my entire self into the things I love and not have to worry about working the 9-5 life or crazy long shifts at a hospital. Is it still challenging at times? HELL yes! Being a mom is the hardest, best job I will ever have! With that being said, I am not sure you will find one person who is with their children 24/7 tell you it is easy by any means. The stay at home mom life is certainly not for every mom, and that's OK. I celebrate all the amazing ways moms care for their family!

Choosing to stay home with my girls has certainly challenged and motivated me in ways I never could have imaged! The past year has been the most challenging yet transformative time of my life. If you would have asked me what I would be doing as a mom BEFORE I became a mom... creating my own digital income would have not been my answer (and here we are!).

Your future and the life you live is truly up to YOU! You are allowed to pivot life into new directions all the time. Personally, I know I will never look back at this time spent home with my babies and regret it.

You will never regret taking a chance on your own happiness.

Everything changed when I realized my family did not need a perfect mom, they needed a happy one.
